We are seeking an energetic and motivated Community Fundraising & Events Executive to help grow and strengthen our community fundraising across Ireland. This is a highly people-focused and outward-facing role, suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities, and being out in the community, working both independently and alongside volunteers.

About the Role

This role focuses on developing and growing community fundraising across two key areas: supporting the Irish Red Cross branch network and building new relationships with community groups such as schools, universities, and local organisations.

You will work closely with volunteers while also proactively identifying and developing new partnerships, helping to expand the reach and impact of Irish Red Cross fundraising nationwide. The role involves regular travel, outreach, and presenting to a wide range of audiences.

  • Support the delivery of national fundraising campaigns and initiatives

  • Create engaging fundraising and promotional materials (e.g. using Canva and social media)

  • Act as a key link between the National Office, branches, and community partners

  • Contribute to achieving fundraising targets and growing community engagement

Essential

  • Experience in fundraising, events, community engagement, or a similar field

  • A confident and engaging communicator with strong presentation skills, with excellent written and spoken English

  • A natural relationship-builder who enjoys meeting new people and maintaining meaningful connections

  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and work independently

  • Comfortable working in a highly outward-facing role, with a willingness to travel and be regularly out in the community

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments

  • A flexible approach to working hours in response to the varying demands of the role

  • A positive, adaptable attitude and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • A genuine interest in the not-for-profit sector and community-based work

  • Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable

  • Experience creating engaging content using tools such as Canva or similar platforms

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) for promoting campaigns or events

  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce or similar)
